If you are planning a longer stay, there is so much to see and do, starting with a beautiful sunrise or sunset driver along the West Macs…
The scenery is spectacular with opportunities for balloon rides over the ranges and surrounds. Driving east, west, north or south, there is plenty to take the breath away from views of the famed Mount Sonder (a Larapinta Trek for those with the stamina), a drive north to see the famed Anmatjere Man, who now also has a wife and child (by local sculptor Mark Egan); south to Rainbow Valley, Chambers Pillar and the Henbury Meteorites Conservation Reserve; south-west to spectacular views along the Binns Track; east to Emily Gap to see the Caterpillar Dreaming; and locally historic Alice Springs Telegraph Station, Alice Springs Desert Park (below Mount Gillen) and the Araluen Cultural Precinct… just to name a few special things to do.
